Final Project Update

Dustin helped me this morning get my Globster on my home page of my Wiki. It looks so much better! Thanks Dustin!

I have been working on my Wiki for my final project. I have had it for several years, but it has not been very useful to my students. I want it to be a site they go at least weekly if not daily. For my project I have added supply list, contact information, a link to hippo campus which a great site for students to get help with homework, and all of the homework assignments and links to notes for my PreCalc classes and I plan to have my Algebra 2 class info posted before school starts. I have also update links to student textbooks, so they can see their textbook on line as well as other resources such as practice problems and practice tests.

I have had several issues trying to update my site. It took me quite a while to figure out how to put links to websites and I still have not figured out how to link my globster that I made for my home page. To get all of my precalc info on linked I had to make sure all documents were either saved as rtf’s or pdf’s so that no matter what software a student has they can open it.

I also figured out how to link an Outlook Calendar so that it can be updated daily which homework assignments, test dates, and any other pertinent information

I hope all of this effort and time pays off in the fall. I hope my students as well as their parents find this useful.

Skype

I love skype! My husband does interim positions with the American Red Cross. His last assignment he was gone for 4 months. We have set up both of our computers with skype. Today we figured out how to talk to each other with video, send pictures, send documents and also how to share screens. On his next assignment we will really enjoy being able to see each other when we talk.

Final Project

I have added lots to my Wiki. I have added supply lists and class procedures. I am teaching PreCalc for the first time this fall and I have added a page for them with general info and then a page for each chapter for first semester that includes homework assignments, notes, and links to what I will use on my airliner.

I have also linked my calendar. I have gone to Globster and made a home page for my Wiki but cannot figure out how to link it. If anyone can help, please let me know. I also have several other questions about the Wiki so if anyone is Wiki Savvy please let me know.
